Give Your Pinterest Some Love With This Raspberry & Blush Pink Shoot

A palette of raspberry and blush pink that’s good enough to eat

It’s raining as I write this. It’s a particularly gloomy day to be fair so this oh-so-pretty editorial shoot is just what I need to make my day much sunnier than it really is. Photographed by the immensely talented Natalie Stevenson Photography who is also the Creative Director for this shoot, and co-ordinated by Bride and Belle Weddings, the palette of raspberry and blush pink is good enough to eat. The team responsible {instalinks at the end of this post} have pulled together a glorious combination of colours and textures making the whole scene look effortless when no doubt there were many hours of painstaking design and creativity required to get the look ‘just so’.

But that’s what great creatives do.

They pour over the minutest of details, some you’ll never even notice, to ensure their work is utter perfection. It’s that passion, which oozes into the very soul of a shoot, that makes the difference between meh and magical.

As to be expected, Kate Wren Flowers is bang on the money with breathtaking pink hue columns of roses, dahlias, sweet peas, delphiniums and eucalyptus. With her inimitable attitude of ‘there’s a space – let’s fill it with flowers’ Kate also flowered up the outdoor swing thus creating the perfect photo-opp. And it’s such a beautiful bouquet too. So delicate with its raspberry colour pops, tied together with hand dyed silk and velvet ribbons by Silk & Purl. Remember, it’s the attention you give to your finishing touches that will set your style apart. The quality of that final flourish of ribbon will make or break the impact of your bouquet and here, it’s simply divine.

“It was essential that I incorporated inspiring and lavishly abundant floral arrangements to compliment the abundant setting.” says Kate. “The focus was primarily on a neutral colour palette fused with bright pops of colour throughout the floral design to add depth and interest. Incorporating lots of feminine and luxurious details was essential in creating a romantic feel.”

“I created two enthralling floral column designs, which perfectly frame the bride and groom, absorbing the gracious gardens into the conservatory setting. The flowers were designed using sustainable methods without the use of floral foam. The flower column was individually filled, one step at a time, to create the exquisitely bountiful ceremony set up which can later be re-used in a dinner setting.”

The team chose the conservatory at Hunton Park, Kings Langley, for the backdrop of their project. Natalie explains why.

Experiment with a variety of textures and heights to create depth and body

NATALIE STEVENSON

“Incorporating the elements of your setting is imperative to create cohesion throughout wedding styling. A natural, light filled venue to accommodate your wedding breakfast with neutral walls and furniture are important in order not to cause conflict with rich hues present throughout your styling. Natural daylight enhances the mixture of tones and textures to create a more aesthetically pleasing dinner setting for your guests. Experiment with a variety of textures and heights to create depth and body and to echo the natural flow of a gracious garden boasting a variation of charming trees, plants and florals to create a consistent soft garden romance style.”

The tablescape is beautiful with luscious tableware from Duchess & Butler. My love of fancy tableware is akin to a shoe addiction for some. It just makes me really happy to see a show-stopping table and I don’t apologise for that. You’re setting a stage here for the festivities of the meal so working the details into your dining design builds an anticipation of things to come.

Olive & Millicent are totally on brief with their pretty place names and menus. It’s those finishing touches of your stationery suite that will elevate the overall look. Abundant flowers, ghost chairs, a confident use of gold cutlery and heavy on the glassware are the final touches that make this tablescape mouth-wateringly good.

The show-stopping crowd pleaser at every wedding is the wedding cake and this creation from Nina at Meadowsweet Cakes is sure to draw a crowd. Nina’s six tier cake in white decorated with blush pink flowers and gold embellishments, towers high above her single and two tier sister cakes while adorable mini cakes are in attendance too. Couture cupcakes and cookies add to the splendour, all lovingly presented above drawers spilling over with fresh roses. It’s picture perfect.

A hint of mint and plops of blueberries and raspberries for a fresh summer drink that compliments both the colour palette and the senses. This display of tipples works so well because of the neutral backdrop at Hunton Park. Never underestimate the power of a neutral wall. It’s your best friend when you’re playing with colour and doesn’t fight back like flock wallpaper will!

I’m loving the dresses and accessories chosen for this shoot too. Model Ruby wore two gowns, both available at Halo & Wren of Hemel Hempstead. The first, ‘Luella’ by Jane Hill, is a low back, dare-to-bare plunging neckline with scalloped beading, figure-huggingly stunning with a medium train.

The second gown is ‘Bells’ by Alena Leena. A frothy avalanche of pleated tulle, another deeply plunged neckline with hand-beaded sparkles on the straps and belt. Head to the nearest staircase and let this dress work its magic with her look-at-me train.

Bespoke handmade hair accessories by Rachel Sokhal enhanced the two beauty looks created by Michelle Nash MUA and Emma Kim Hair. The Ellene headpiece at £295* is “made with gold plate and adorned with blooms of ivory flowers made from polymer clay, with centres of either beautiful sparkling Swarovski crystals or pearls” says Rachel. The ornate Ruby drop earrings are £70*. They have Swarovski pearls at the centre and they’re finished with Swarovski pear drop crystal.

For the romantics amongst you this shoot is no doubt tugging at your heart-strings as well it might. Vendors and stockists can be found in the links below and I know the team would love to know you saw their work on insposa so please give us a little mention if and when you contact them. For myself, I can’t wait to see what they come up with next – much love, EJ x
