These rich blues from Masha Unwerth Photography at Hale Park leave us anything but cold as we head into autumn.
You know how much I love a beautiful table setting – well here’s a doozy to add to the new ‘blue wedding’ Pinterest board I just know you’ll be starting to save this inspiration. Here’s my Pinterest if you’d like to follow me or pin from it.
Photographer Masha Unwerth brought together a team of her creative peers to set the scene for a new masterclass she was hosting. Set in the grounds of wedding venue Hale Park in Hampshire, the dominant colour was blue. Easy enough you may say, but actually blue can be a very difficult colour to work with – in my humble opinion anyway. Firstly there’s a zillion blues in the world, each one making a different statement, one from the another. So, when you’re trying to set a particular mood, be careful to opt for the right blue else your vibe will get lost in translation. Some blues are cold, others are warm. Some blues are insipid whilst other blues are rich and lush as in this shoot – oh how I love those chairs though! So you see, when your stylist asks you ‘what colour are you opting for?’ answering ‘blue’ is not enough. This is where I suggest you gather your swatches of fabric and create a very distinct mood board to keep your wedding style team on point.
Here the team have worked their magic with a wonderful warm blue with highlights of gold and wonderful florals. The stationery suite is divine and works beautifully with the cool plates and table decor. I’ve put those solid stem champagne flutes on my list of ‘must have’s too. Anyway I’m going to let Masha take over here and give you all the details..
“Unbelievably idyllic, set within a magnificent landscape with gardens overlooking the Avon Valley, Hale Park is a dream wedding location. In the heart of the New Forest, surrounded by the grand Palladian architecture, myself and my team were inspired to host our very first creative masterclass and social, The Etonnant.
With organic details and effortless styling between myself and Tania of Hire Societies, the theme was ‘sexy modern English wedding’. I wanted the shoot to exude privacy, elegance, modern vibes and ultimately, tradition which is why we involved the talented Celebrant, Helen Noble.
Representing the New Forest countryside in early autumn, the intimate ceremony took place outdoors on one of the terraces which leads onto the magnificent gardens with beautiful views across the Avon Valley. Our bride model, Aleesha, wore ‘Marla’ by Enzoani; a mermaid bridal gown available at the Helena Fortley Bridal Boutique.
The dinner table centrepiece, adorned with wonderful florals, the drawing room fireplace and the de-constructed “I do” outdoor arch were by Flourish and Grace. The florals complimented the stunning outdoor ceremony set up and created a fabulous focal point.
Expertly created wedding stationery by Mathilda Lundin was a perfect reflection of the colour board. Masterfully executed, the four-tiered luxurious white wedding cake by Jo Harper featured a top floating tier; the abundant selection of wedding favours and macaroons complimented the refined and sophisticated-inspired styling.
Becky Downton, my assistant and shoot make-up artist chose a classic flawless bridal look with a red lip and winged black liner, while Jen Hawkins, hair stylist, created smooth, soft Hollywood waves that are perfect for modern classic wedding.
Shoe designer Diane Hassall loaned a fabulous pair of her pearl, floral and sparkle encrusted heels. The masterclass photographers couldn’t get enough of the dreamiest pair of wedding shoes ever.
The diamond set ‘Flick’ engagement ring in platinum with a plain red gold wedding ring and a platinum ring with red gold stripes for the groom, both with matte-finish, were adeptly picked by the shoot’s Celebrant, Helen and kindly provided to us by the Aurum Designer Jewellers.
As a photographer I have previously worked with the amazing Hale Park in Hampshire before however this was our first ever masterclass for like-minded creatives. The opportunity to shoot the fabulous couple in the beautiful light of the vaulted arches of the green crypt or amongst the garden blooms, whilst being an inspirational team to other creatives, was truly a dream come true.”
