English Vineyard Wedding Inspiration at Hencote Estate in Shrewsbury

This pretty vineyard wedding shoot, photographed by Madara Kurtisa Photography, is the epitome of an English countryside wedding.

Set among the grapevines of Hencote Estate in Shrewsbury, the team worked with the lush landscape to create a vineyard wedding scape of pastel hues and gold highlights.

“Running away from a busy lifestyle in the county of Shropshire in Shrewsbury is the gorgeous English wine estate, Hencote Estate Vineyard” photographer Madara Kurtisa explains. “As soon as we drove through the gates it felt like we’d been transported directly to France. From the vineyards on the hillside, past luxury glamping lodges, a modern restaurant, wine and cocktail bar to the beautifully restored Georgian hay barn. The whole estate feels like it was pulled directly out of the French countryside. This elopement styled shoot was an amazing mixture of vendors. We wanted to put together a shoot that had beautiful pastels, peach and ivory with the enchanting colours of the Autumn.”

Notes on the dress:

“Erin wore this beautiful Mikado satin wedding dress designed by Enzoani which perfectly complimented the whole theme. A timelessly elegant dress with the sweetest modern lace details, this A-line satin gown features a sleeveless halter neckline bodice that is fitted at the waist with a pleated sash to flatter the figure and balance the voluminous skirt. With a low lace illusion back and covered buttons, these details provide a feminine and playful finishing touch.”

The Venue – Hencote Estate

The Hencote Estate offers wedding for up to 150 guests during the day and 200 for an evening reception. The venue has also recently launched a new ‘intimate wedding package’ for 15-50 guests. Exclusive hire is available (dep. on numbers) which includes use of ‘The View’ restaurant and the adjoining balcony which affords superb views across the vineyard. The eagerly anticipated Wedding Gazebo will mean the venue is licensed to hold civil ceremonies but until then couples can choose one of the many idyllic spots for a blessing or celebrant hosted ceremony. As a guide, menus start at £40 per head but the venue takes pride in offering bespoke weddings to suit each couple’s personal preference.

For weddings in excess of 100 guests, use of The Grange house is included with accommodation for up to 14 guests, perfect for the wedding party. Overnight guests can also book luxurious glamping in one of the 10 luxury lodges accommodating 2 adults per lodge, plus children.

Florist ‘Calisto by Christina’

“The beautiful styled shoot at Hencote Estate was one of the most stunning wedding shoots I have ever participated in. My vision behind the florals was to create perfect arrangements for a late Summer, early Autumn wedding. This was achieved by combining gorgeous pastels, peach and ivory with the enchanting colours of Autumn. The autumnal foliage really brought to them to life.”

Stylist ‘Sage & Belle’

“The styling for this set up was to be elegant and timeless with a pop of vibrant colour to add personality and warmth. Coral was the chosen colour which we highlighted with the napkins, and the stunning florals. We accented this with tones of champagne (after all, we were at a vineyard!) in the tablecloth and chiffon runners, and added a luxury feel with hints of gold on the charger plates, cutlery, glassware candlesticks and tea light holders. The overall effect was one of elegance, warmth and understated glamour.”

Cake Designer ‘Claire Taylor Cake Design’

“This cake design proves that an oversized rectangular base tier makes a statement, especially when it’s topped with a significantly smaller layer. The beautiful delicate sugar flowers are a welcome addition to any wedding cake shape, but they look particularly pretty on top of an all-white cubed confection.”
