Beautiful florals and the frilliest wedding dress are the highlights of this classic wedding shoot at Stapleford Park Country House Hotel in Leicestershire. The team embraced the natural light and soft mellow tones of the Orangery and filled the space with fragrant flowers and delicate details.
The Dress
Inspiration came from the romantic ruffles of the Anghel dress by @nicolemilanoofficial. An “A-line wedding dress crafted wholly of antique rose tulle with sweetheart neckline and tulle draping. The short sleeves are sculptural yet light thanks to the tulle ruffles.”
Venue & Flowers
Chloe Lavender at Wild By Nature tells us more about the flowers
“Stapleford Park Country House Hotel, boasting an imposing grandeur and simply stunning landscaped gardens, was the perfect backdrop to rewrite a classic wedding theme and give it a modern, feminine edge.
Drawing from the timeless romance of the venue, the soft, blush colour palette was threaded through all aspects of the concept; from the complete wow factor of the antique rose tulle dress to the seasonally led floral design and styling.
Sourced from local flower growers, the May flower recipe combined peonies, ranunculus and double tulips with heavenly-scented stocks and frothy, airy orlaya to juxtapose formal elegance with the wild and whimsical. Gold accents, blush fabrics and delicate glassware completed the styling which balanced straight lines with a natural softness.”
The Wedding Cake
Debbie Milne, Designer at My Little Cake Studio, Leicestershire explains more about designing the cake
“This is a wedding cake I have designed, redesigned and thought about time and time again since Charlotte first introduced me to the wedding dress which is so dreamy I wanted the cake to represent it.
My first design idea was to make the top tier look like a huge peony but that idea changed. Instead the design developed in stages. I feel most of my wedding cakes are happy accidents. Ideas develop in my mind as I create with my hands.
The bodice of the dress is lined. The ripple effect in the lines on the cake are the strips I was about to reject as they had warped while drying but I looked again and felt they made it. I wanted the frothy frill contained to one area as it is on the dress so I created space between the tiers.
I kept the palette soft and pale to compliment both the dress and the floral decorations. On the day of the shoot I asked Haley, our model, to stand next to the finished cake. I admit I gave a little squeal of excitement and punched the air.”
