When I first read Claire’s email telling me how Harry proposed, I genuinely had tears streaming down my cheeks. After 10 years of writing about weddings you’d think nothing would make me cry, but you’d be wrong.
Harry’s proposal was so thoughtful and planned with such meaning and love that I suggest you have the tissues ready.
This is their engagement story:
“Seven years ago, we fell in love a few weeks before my father unexpectedly passed away. Harry was my rock and got me through the hardest times of my life. My Father is Scottish and we took his ashes to Loch Lomond.
Seven years later we were going to Scotland for a weekend away. Harry suggested going to where my Father’s ashes were. Little did I know he had the whole thing planned. Because Harry couldn’t ask for my Father’s permission for my hand in marriage he took me back to where his ashes are and proposed to me there.
Of course I said YES! and it was perfect because he knew how much my Father meant to me.”
Claire & Harry’s Wedding Plans
- Wedding Venue: We are hoping to get married in Feb 2025 but we haven’t booked our venue yet.
- Wedding Style/Theme: For our flowers we will be having Scottish thistles with red roses
- Most important thing about your wedding day: We are looking forward to a special day with family and friends.
