Blush Pink Woodland Wedding, Carved Egg Wedding Favours, Dresses by Eddy K & Moonlight Bridal

Sage & Belle Styling | Laura Jayne Photographer

This pretty blush pink woodland wedding shoot is full of details worthy of your Pinterest board.

This pretty blush pink woodland wedding shoot, beautifully photographed by Laura Jayne Photographer, is a picture perfect setting for those couples wanting a theme inspired by nature. It’s also testament to the importance of building a team who’ll happily work together on your brief, or at the very least, having your stylist communicate with your cake and flower people with regards to colours and textures.

There’s so much room for error when you talk colour and style. In this case, one person’s idea of blush pink can be very different to another’s. This is where fabric swatches or colour cards come in. They are important items of reference for your team. The shoot’s Creative Director, wedding stylist Vickie Elliott from Sage & Belle Styling, shows us how pulling the right team together can bring to life what’s hidden in your mind’s eye.

“Our blush pink woodland wedding scene is perfect for the bride who loves nature and the outdoors, but doesn’t want to go all out ‘rustic’ with her wedding.” says Vickie. “She’s a bride who wants her wedding to be beautiful and reflect her feminine side.”

Sage & Belle (formerly known as Elegance Weddings & Events) have been styling weddings for over 10 years. Over that time they’ve built up a vast range of tableware, props and draping which you can make an appointment to browse in their Nottingham showroom. Vickie also understands that working out what you need for your reception tables can be quite a daunting task so she’s put together a selection of styling packages based on guest numbers. She fondly calls it her ‘kitchen sink’ package “for the couples that want it all”.

Flowers & Foliage

For the flowers Vickie invited industry colleague Sophie Crowder from Big Day Blooms & Cakes to join the team. Sophie created a pretty floral palette of Astilbe, Alliums, Roses, Ammi, Nigella, Lisianthus, Papaver Seed Heads and Blushing Bride Protea. These tongue-twisting names may mean nothing to you or me, but Sophie, who knows a thing or two about flowers, combined their soft hues and created a stunning centrepiece and table to floor swag.

“Sophie used lots of fresh foliage combined with soft, blousey blush pink flowers on a hoop centrepiece.” says Vickie. “Spot the woodland animal’s hiding amongst the foliage. Posies of wildflowers add a pretty touch to the backs of the chairs too and connect the table decorations and bouquet. Everything is beautifully coordinated for a seamless look.”

Chiffon Runner from £8, Coloured Napkins from £1.50, Chair Dressing from £2.75, Candlesticks With Coloured Candles from £7.50, Chair Posies from £18, Foliage Runners from £16 per metre, Chiffon Tree or Gazebo Draping from £75, Hoop Centrepiece from £35, Floral Centrepieces from £55

Stationery, Signage & Hand Carved Eggs

“We used gold charger plates which combine beautifully with the earthy, sage green napkins and the personalised menus designed by Vicky Daws at Inviting Writing.” says Vickie. “Vicky used handmade paper with rough, torn edges and gold leaf to add layers and texture. Gold leaf was applied to the exquisite delicate hand carved eggs by Hatchfully Yours which add a unique touch. We chose elegant tall tapered coloured candles to add height and ambience and soft dusky pink chiffon to drape the table, trees and chairs.”

Charger Plates from £1, Place Card Menus from £7, Hand Carved Eggs – Chicken Eggs from £45 / Goose Eggs from £65

Wedding Cake & Cake Table

The pretty cake table was also created by Sophie at Big Day Blooms & Cakes. Yes, cake and flower combos are her thing. Sophie is a fully registered and inspected wedding cake maker with a Food Standards rating of 5 out of 5 so this isn’t just a sideline she’s thrown in for good measure. Do we hate her for being so damn talented? No we don’t, because I’ve met her and she’s lovely and happy either way to do just your flowers or just your cake or both if you want her to.

Sophie’s two tier wedding cake, finished with soft ribbon, stood pride of place amongst a selection of mini cakes and favours displayed on gold plates and cut glass cake stands. Inviting Writing used modern, handwritten calligraphy to transform an ornate gold dressing table mirror into a ‘Let’s Eat Cake’ sign.

TIP: Mirrors are your go to prop when you want to double up the visual display of a cake table or similar feature display.

If you have a sweet tooth you’ll be pleased to know I made sure to get the full run down of cakes and favours Sophie created for the dessert table. Here we go: French Madeleines (almond and cherry), Cake Truffles (orange and coconut), Miniature & Large Cupcakes (vanilla), Meringue Kisses (candy floss flavour), Macarons (almond and white chocolate), Iced Biscuits (violet flavour), Individual Layer Cakes (blackberry), Fondant Fancies (lemon).

Two Tier Wedding Cake from £280, Dessert Table Mini Cakes & Favours from £140

Personalised Handwritten Welcome Mirror from £75, Lanterns from £10
